Land-use change is the biggest driver of biodiversity decline, removing forests and plowing and paving more than half of Earth’s surface. Our actions must not continue to disrupt ecosystem integrity. Recent changes in the climate are widespread, rapid, intensifying, and unprecedented in thousands of years. We are headed into an extremely uncertain future. Nature-based solutions will help restore ecosystems, sustain human life, and create resiliency in a changing world.
