@bobsalpha1.bsky.social I see you are here too! Just a Tom Nichols fan myself. Missed Tom’s curmudgeonly posts after I left Twitter.

@ericowens.bsky.social Hey! What do you think about Sarah McBride’s acquiescence to new House policy on bathroom availability for transgender people? She does have a point. Others here say she’s selling out and should fight. Probably best to avoid using up political capital?

@ericowens.bsky.social Do you know this fellow’s work on the current crisis among young men? I like a lot of what he has to say. Just curious. Smerconish has him on often and I always watch that Saturday am show.

Welcome 🤣
I’ve been on Twitter for so long that the Bluesky feed seems…alien.

Where is all the conservative propaganda? Why am I not seeing all of Elon Musk’s dumb quote tweets? Where is Bella Hadid??

The share of Republicans who say that they’re worse off financially than they were a year ago is already down 15-points since the election.

Many of you are getting to know Lily, my goofball kitten. But for years, I lived with a wonderful cat named Carla. This is the tribute I wrote for her when she passed away last spring.

I am finding it quite unbearable to watch Sarah McBride bear the grotesque attack of her colleagues with so much grace. I know it is what we have been taught to expect of trailblazers, but I am increasingly struggling to accept this.

Here’s the thing: I’m 100% happy to pay for a social media app. Every month. Roll out Bsky Blue tomorrow and I’m in.

The problem with Twitter premium wasn’t the premium. The problem was that you would be giving money to manic, drug addled Bond villain.
the big questions now, from @davekarpf.bsky.social: “eventually they need to figure out: All right, how do we pay for the service? How do we pay our employees? How do we sustain this growth?”

And a reminder that tiny movements of voters over niche issues can be fatal to candidates
Out of roughly 153 million votes cast in this election, the presidency was decided by 230k across the three states of Wisconsin (30k), Michigan (80k) and Pennsylvania (120k). That's 00.15%.

This remains an extremely closely divided nation. Any agenda viewed as extreme is likely to face backlash.
