AARP publication "Spotlight: The Older Americans Act" has the remarkable fact that the value of OAA funding has gone DOWN 21% since 2001 while the population to be served has already gone UP 70%. Strong argument for better funding of OAA. Maybe shave from overused drugs and surgeries?!

I'm seeing more interest by federal-level legislators and staff with supporting families (not just stopping abortions!). Since eldercare is the most common cause of family bankruptcy and since caregiving women take it on the chin in old age, perhaps that interest could extend to eldercare...
