Dr Jen Adjacent (Todd )
@drjenadjacent.bsky.social
I am not Dr Jen Gunter. I am just adjacent to her, so imagine me next to Jen in this picture. I am American sugar to her Canadian spice. Retired tech executive, and now a magician.
Welcome to the new world of “evidence based” medicine.

Ignore any high quality studies that negate your hypothesis and act like they don’t even exist and talk only about the shitty study that supports your point.

Works for supplements, autism, vaccines, you name it.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice you can’t be fooled again

My reading of this ad is that if I use this product, I too will lose the power of critical thinking and will quickly turn into a cartoon character of myself.

@apoorvanyt.bsky.social your response to a readers point about the effect of the vaccine advisory panel decisions was excellent. However, this point about the panel using debunked conspiracy theories to make health care decisions should have been your lede.

@nytimes you could also have reported this as “ on Tuesday, Trump did not appear to understand the definition of Article 5, the mutual defense article, but appears to have been educated on it by the time he was asked again on Wednesday. “

I would argue my version is far more likely than yours.
June 25, 2025 at 10:12 AM
FFS. Stop Simply repeating his words. What is happening is “Trump speaks without any knowledge or thought, unnecessarily escalating a already dangerous situation”
June 18, 2025 at 8:01 PM
“Disruptive brand of politics”? That implies his TACO approach is purposeful.

You should say something like:
- Ignorant
- Incoherent
- Rambling
- Childish
- Inconsistent

Fuck you WSJ for sane washing yet again.

Great, so I guess he is willing to go to the top marginal tax rates under Eisenhower (91%) or Kennedy/Johnson (70%) then?
June 3, 2025 at 8:37 PM

@nytimes “layered with meaning” implies there is nuanced thought. This is actually “projection of an angry toddler-like mind”. There might be other meaning, but he is not aware of that meaning, he is simply lashing out.

The NY Times is acquiescing to Trump. It Might not be working.

Look in the mirror NYTimes. Not resisting means you lose your identity. You would know all about that.

I am in the Air Canada lounge in Vancouver. This is technically on the US side of the airport as we already passed through US immigration. This is the emptiest I have ever seen this lounge. I find it hard to believe Canadian travel to the US is only down 20%. Anecdotally it seems much more than that

And later that same day…
Sec Bessent, care to double down on our bet?
May 6, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Secretary Bessent, I will take that bet. I bet you will not have a trade deal with any country of significance in 7 days.
May 6, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Having a strategic reserve of a worthless asset that is incredibly volatile… yeah,
on the scale of 1 to stupid, this is stupid.
March 10, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Michael Block of Third Seven Capital, you sir, are an idiot.

For Trump to be playing multidimensional chess, he’d have to be planning ahead. Your Trump derangement syndrome keeps you from seeing he is playing tic tac toe and overturning the board in a tantrum every time an opponent outsmarts him.
March 8, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Oh for fucks sake! Saying that DOGE found “hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud” simply lacks evidence is a lie equivalent to the lie of the original statement.

It is complete and utter bullshit that is as obvious as the nose on my face.

This one chart invalidates Malcolm Gladwell’s poorly researched piece of shit book about the wisdom of crowds.

Malcolm is a bad researcher but he is great at selling books. I’ll give him that

Thanks to @jefftiedrich.bsky.social & @ifbookspod.bsky.social for informing this take.

Good job @nytimes.com. However, turning in this paper simultaneously 1 year, 10 years and 20 years late still gets you an F grade.
February 23, 2025 at 4:45 PM
It’s called lying. @nytimes, you are a bunch of feckless mother fuckers.

I am in the process of getting rid of things cluttering up my house. This game of battleship was from the early 1970s. My daughter (age 27) insisted I take a picture of it before I give it away, specifically noting how the men are playing while the women wash the dishes in the background.
February 4, 2025 at 8:27 PM
In game theory, if you play your opponent once, an all out attack tends to work. But if you are playing in a series, reputation building and cooperation by opponents is more effective.

Trump thinks he is in a single play game but Canada and Mexico know his style and are playing the full series.

Trudeau brought up “potash” repeatedly in his speech yesterday. The moron in chief doesn’t get that US agriculture depends on this in fertilizer. So US food production would be severely hampered by a targeted tariff.
February 2, 2025 at 5:02 PM
FFS @nytimes.com , can’t you get anything right?
February 2, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Sibling love.

My daughter is home visiting for a few months after finishing her PhD in neuroscience (studying Alzheimer’s) but before she starts a post doc somewhere in Europe. I repainted her room, and as my reward she made me some amazing cookies to go with my afternoon cappuccino
