I'm so happy that my power was out for almost 24 hours because of this storm and flooding here in the Pacific Northwest. The reason I'm happy is because I didn't have to listen to the Liar in Chief. Whenever he accuses someone else, insert his name in place of theirs and we'll have a confession.

Pleas from charities is common on TV/Internet and every charity makes it sound as if their cause is the only one. But James 1:27 says that God prefers helping orphans and widows and Isaiah 1:17 says to relieve the suffering the widows and orphans. Be generous during this season. Love one another.

As a "stubborn Dutch" woman, I recognize my tendency to insist on winning an argument or debate. I'm trying to tamp that down, taking my own advice to listen twice as much as I talk, because we are given two ears and one mouth for a reason. This soldier was the first that I cleared for deployment that I know was KIA just days after arriving in theater... he died on Veterans Day 2004.

There is no reason for this country to experience food insecurity. It is an abject moral failure that 400 individuals have enough wealth to feed the other 340.1m of us practically indefinitely and choose to hoard it and rig the system instead.

Just curious...Donald Trump building a ballroom a cost of $230 million which is now up to $350 million while he's trying to get $250 million back from the taxpayers through the Department of Justice. Does anybody besides me think that he's trying to get that $250 million for that building fund?
