Excited to receive this from my good friend Trevor Grahamslaw, his exhaustively researched history of the Cumbrian market town of Wigton.
Mainly set in the Georgian era of the Hanoverian Kings, it's a labour of love, lavishly illustrated from his vast collection of photographs.

'Fennell’s take on their characters [Catherine & Heathcliff] is sufficiently “cold and unlikable” that engagement with their fates is made difficult.'

Tbh I've always found them to be cold & unlikeable.
