Yeah, core memory sounds about right. Zeromus kinda became ingrained when I saw the big kids playing die three times to Big Bang each try and it made an impression. The music being blood pumpingly frantic and heroic and easily remembered just made it all stick.

I will *always* love the Zeromus final battle theme. First FF final boss battle theme that stuck with me as a kid at first listen and it’s been living rent free in my head since then.

It probably also helped seeing Big Bang being so destructive just when the music got amped up. :D
