Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” was just released. It would terminate health insurance for 14 MILLION Americans.

This is not a drill. We need to fight back.

The values reflected by taking healthcare away to fund cutting taxes for the wealthy are despicable.

Wrapping up a week in Bologna. Experiencing the familiar dread of going from a walkable, planned environment with trains and transit to the car-is-king, sidewalk-less American southeastern US. We tolerate such poor standards.

Worth remembering that the institutions and titles never made America’s storied scientists great, but vice versa. Take away the people and you just have empty buildings full of beakers and benches.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are going after Direct File because it stops giant tax prep companies from ripping taxpayers off for services that should be free.

Americans want a free and easy way to file their taxes — Trump and Musk want to take that away.

No lawmaker in Congress should be able to own, buy, and sell individual stocks.

We need to ban congressional stock trading—and I've got a bill for that.

Documented two doses of MMR (or VZV) trump any serologic testing for measles or varicella IgG. Commerically available tests are not sensitive enough and will be false negative in about 1/3 of vaccinated individuals.

This story makes a really powerful (and tragically depressing) point: that there is no evidence strong enough to counter a world view anchored in conspiracy theory and reinforced by a multitide of motivated "influencers" — even the death of one's own child.

I still sometimes sit in moments of brief shock that our country re-elected him after the January 6 attack on Congress.

The back and forth with student loans is exhausting and makes it hard to plan financially. I wish we had a functioning legislative body that would do *anything* about it.

What a fucking joke.
By voting to confirm RFK Jr., the Senate “is wagering the future of our public health system on a prayer that a conspiracy theorist can build back up the agencies that he and his supporters have spent years breaking down,” Nicholas Florko writes.
RFK Jr. Won. Now What?
America’s health is in the hands of an anti-vaccine conspiracist.

I was a junior in college when Tyler Clementi died by suicide after his homophobic Rutgers roommate spied on him via webcam and posted about it on Twitter. A year later, Jamey Rodemeyer took his life at age 14 in Amherst, NY, a victim of intense bullying and homophobia.
