checking it on google maps the island's only a few hundred feet across, so it's (unfortunately) not a bizarrely proportioned sandbar or the like. It does look to be about 8 miles from the coast, so i'm guessing they meant to include that fact but dropped the ball on the editing .

looks like it's classical greek meaning "to seek" or "strive for" so it makes sense in that regard. Not exactly something people would know at a glance, but i find the name pretty recognizable at a glance, at least

Rather than going with higher rise jeans, could you instead go with a suit that closes lower (if that even is a thing), or stick with an open coat? i agree that the low-rise w/ sport coat looks awkward, but i've never been much for high-waisted jeans

Don't know how the averages shake out, but i found this lovely graph at
www.unpopularfront.news/p/what-it-to...
that basically proves your point--Zohran won through middle class voters. I'm guessing the low end includes retirees, but cuomo still won up to 50k so the point still stands

I'm thinking it was generated as an image from the start-- if it was from a text generator then yeah, i wouldn't expect spelling mistakes

This one's tough, but i'm leaning towards ai. There's no obvious mangled letters, but a lot of the spelling mistakes don't make sense from a typing perspective. But the real giveaway is the weird teardrop bullhorn-- i don't think you would ever come across one that isn't conical irl.

When i first saw this phenomenon, someone was promoting it because it was way cheaper than human sports drinks (obv. gatorade is ripping us off!!!!). No idea if it's evolved beyond that at this point.

oh definitely, pretty sure you can buy it over the counter for pets

Ivermectin does see legit use in humans as an antiparasitic, people were just buying the animal versions since you don't have to convince a doctor that way. Doesn't seem like fenbendazole sees human use, i wonder if morons just played the association game from ivermectin to vet meds in general now?

I think they're meta's new smart glasses that they've been showing off? because apparently zuck saw the massive success of google glass and decided he could use another gaping money pit to toss his unimaginable wealth into.

but yeah, they look pretty bad on him.

I mean, it's not like he's been taking (and hawking) said supplements for years and years now right? because otherwise it would be pretty weird that they suddenly just started working out of nowhere?

Oh.

fwiw, i live in small town new england (hometown is about 2x pop of town in story) and my morning commute still has good chunks without cell service. So i do believe that that part of the story. But we're also deep blue dem territory, so you won't see us profiled by the media like this

@joshuajfriedman.com reskeeted this in honor of bat appreciation day, or at least that's how i came upon it

looking at that that profile, i'm pretty sure it's a bot account, for what it's worth. Has this same wishy-washy critique/counterpoint language on about a gazillion replies(also saw another recent post where it and another account used nearly identical language)
March 16, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Well, i for one apreciate the work you and bennet do. (Though it's hard to listen to right now since shit's so bleak)

The point is that hard drives generally don't overheat under any circumstance, certainly not to a computer freezing extent, anyways. I'm sure there are exceptions, but on a search through 60k entries? Either she has the world's jankiest computer, or she has no clue what she's talking about
March 14, 2025 at 2:21 PM
ah, so you're just an asshole. Well then, just to reiterate: your understanding of the design of DnD and who ought to be playing it are fundamentally flawed. you can keep trying to convince people that they're playing the wrong game, but you're not going to make much headway.
January 19, 2025 at 3:28 AM
but that's not how most people get into ttrpgs. Most people have a friend or relative be like, hey i'm starting a campaign, wanna join? and so they learn that system. And that system is probably going to be dnd (or a direct relative)
January 18, 2025 at 10:01 PM
ok, so that just goes back to my keyboard analogy then. there might be a platonic ideal of a system for each given person, but it's often a lot easier to just tweak the system you know to your own liking.
January 18, 2025 at 9:55 PM
and i still think you've credited your own personal interpretation of dnd as fact while ignoring the interpretations of others, an issue that is, as i noted, wholey irrespective of experience or time played.
January 18, 2025 at 9:46 PM
because you did?
January 18, 2025 at 9:44 PM
i frankly don't think that matters.
January 18, 2025 at 9:42 PM
i doubt you want to get into an "I've been playing dnd longer than you" fight with the folks on here (though i'm sure you have me beat, to be fair.) Regardless, i think you've failed to recognize all the different things that DnD has meant to different people from the very start.
