So, what are we all going to do when nothing happens? When nothing comes of any of this? What then?

Do you think the Secret Device team for Trump resents how nice it must be on Obama's detail?

The Right barely needs to spend any energy on tearing the left down. We do that quite well all on our own, thank you very much.

I hate to say it, but I think the Dems have lost this one. The pain of a closed federal government appears to be greater than the pain of losing healthcare subsidies. Perhaps the horrendous premium increases will result in the failure of the insurance industry, though unlikely.

Once upon a time, Asian countries effectively had one big potential market to sell into, the USA. Now the rest of the world is improving, and their options are widening. Our ability to bully them is diminished. Trump's treatment of Korean engineers will not result in the groveling he's hoping for.

I fear the GOP's current Federal takeover tactics will result in a win-win for the right. When they make authoritarian policies, the left can either comply, giving the right power, or they can reclaim local control, giving the right their goal of diminishing the Federal government's power.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one’s lifetime.”

Just keep doing what you're doing, Donny. America won't really get the horror of your work until it nearly kills them. Maybe then they will avoid shit like this in the future. Without that, we'll just do this again in 2028.

I hate Musk, but destroying cars owned by people who aren't him is not a great move. It does not help people come together to oppose him.

Hold on a moment... Does Trump think that tariffs are added to things we export? That's the only rational conclusion I can come to.

Yes, the Clinton administration cut the federal workforce as well. After six months on assessment and culling over six years. It's not the same.

The government is not a business. The stakeholders are citizens, not investors. Profit is not the objective, service is.
