These jagged ambush bugs (Phymata sp.; #Hemiptera: #Reduviidae) are amazing hunters and their camouflage game is usually on point. They can catch some pretty big prey with those raptorial forelegs.

Last night in Ann Arbor, MI. At least six different species. Photinus pyralis, Photuris fairchildi, one in the Photuris versicolor complex. Will have to collect next time to figure out the rest. #FireflyMagic
