We’re ending one of the most devestating weeks for LA. So many friends, neighbors, colleagues, favorites business all affected directly or indirectly by these fires. “Empathy” is the word being used a lot - and those that show it, are the real ones. Flock to them. Everyone else is just noise. 🧵

The fires here across LA are a wake-up call. We are going to need to rebuild faster and get these communities affected back on track. We must reassess how CEQA is applied to prevent it from slowing rebuilding efforts down & we should suspend CEQA for 2 years (maybe 5) while keeping key protections.🧵

We were able to help prepare hundreds of meals for community members at Project Angel Food’s new Lincoln Heights location. They prepare over 3000 meals daily and always need volunteers!

Matt Gaetz withdrawing was always inevitable. The reality is, Republicans don’t really care about his past, they just don’t like HIM and rightfully so. The next AG pick, though - buckle up because it’s likely going to be a more awful person.

The only logical answer of course, is Star Trek.
Not a surprising decision from this SCOTUS. The majority argument was again (much like in Shelby v Holder), flimsy and not rooted in reality, pretending that by not applying race as a factor somehow “eliminates” racism, when that’s why these guard rails were there from the start.
