Trump follows in the steps of Putin who ordered the recent invasion of Ukraine. Japan's decision to bomb Pearl Harbor is also a model for this attack on Iran--but that occurred before Japan (US and Russia, too) agreed to UN charter. The US appears now to be clearly in violation of international law.

The arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil—a green card holder whose wife is eight months pregnant—is a blatant assault on the First Amendment and a sign of advancing authoritarianism under Trump. He must be released now.
This extreme escalation is an egregious violation of first amendment rights. Now is the moment to speak out and oppose this as fiercely and loudly as possible.
