In all honesty, I find reading about sociopolitical history to be quite helpful. Reading and researching why we are where we are, and how it’s largely an extension of previous events, just with far more access to real-time information (to the point of overload) gives things context.

I remember getting ‘Dead Flag Blues’ (or an edited version of it, I think) on a free cover CD back in 1997, and it frankly blew my mind. Absolutely made me think about what music could be.

Nothing is free.
That’s the bottom line.
I was happier when they offered a suite of programs at a reasonable price. That seemed like a great model. Free is never free.
