Ha ha, good man! I was mostly kidding around (and recommending Our Team and thus Moses and the Doctor to some friends) and figured heck, might as well ask!

More importantly, my gosh, I love the colors on that book (I have said this before). Your designers did great work.

(Mostly I think it was the junior year of college obsession with Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and Neil Young. What a year!)

The black and white music video of that song is magnificent.

This reminds me of discussions with people where we realized that the terms “yeah” and “all right” are extremely important to music.

Hey, new terms! Time to learn some things!
February 7, 2026 at 6:57 AM
This is very interesting to me, I guess more in terms of composition at this exact moment. I keep thinking about storyboarding and how that might relate to both movies (animated or not) and comics.

I initially thought that you were Hugo in this analogy and your daughter was Daffy, but then I realized you and your daughter are Hugo and Looney Tunes is Daffy.

I cannot think of exactly what this reminds me of—beyond a line from a Chaim Potok novel, of all things—but I think in spirit it’s more like Egon’s Twinkie explanation from Ghostbusters.

I should note that all of this is complimentary to everyone involved, including me!

I love being able to talk to people who know what they’re talking about!
February 3, 2026 at 6:28 AM
Oh, of course! I did not mean to imply otherwise. Plus it’s fun to talk about art (I include writing!) (well, at least for me) with someone who does it for a living! I can respect that my talents didn’t go that way. (Well, not yet!)
February 3, 2026 at 6:28 AM
There is a wide world of difference between “this is how I’d do it” and “this is right/wrong,” and so I like how you’re phrasing it because that helps me clarify it in my own head!
February 3, 2026 at 5:48 AM
Nothing is perfect, so I definitely don’t care if my TV shows are. It’s enjoyable, some actors I like a lot are getting work, the crew is getting work and making it look exactly like the show it needs to be. Makes my family (including the dog) happy? Yes, sir, I like it! (Thanks for the rec!)
February 3, 2026 at 4:53 AM
Anyway, it’s even more interesting to me because of how personal it is to the one composing the picture and what their audience may have in mind. (And I mostly take pictures of my dog. Handsome from any angle.)

Art is fun! This is also why I like varied perspectives, especially from professionals!
February 3, 2026 at 4:44 AM
This is extremely interesting to me because, as someone who’s not a professional artist, I find myself drifting against that sort of composition even while taking a photograph. I kinda increasingly like things off-center.

(Not like I’m looking at using Dutch angles all the time or anything.)
