In Keira Knightley’s defense she needs the money. Her career died on the train tracks with Anna Karenina.

Thinking about tragic lesbian period pieces is my version of a gratitude journal.

If Dr. Strangelove was made today Peter Sellers would also play an anti-nuclear war protestor who was super cringe which if you think about it is almost as bad as starting nuclear war

Forgot to share this here but since getting laid off you can follow me on substack where my first essay was about cancer movies and my second essay was about failing to have sex with cis men 🎉

Lorde’s album is proof nothing about being newly trans is as mortifying as trying to fill the hole left by your parents with bad sex

Every time I have to make a personality quiz or cover a show like The Ultimatum: Queer Love I feel like I have the energy of Robert Pattinson on his last Twilight press tours

I was thinking I don’t want to click on this list because I hate the New York Times when I should’ve been thinking this list isn’t worth clicking on because it’s the New York Times lol
I don't know who needs to hear this, but box office earnings should NOT be a factor in a list that claims to be representing the BEST films of the 21st century.

Lorde’s new album sounds like an MRI machine (complimentary) which makes sense given the album art is anyone asking her about this

I’m managing to mostly still do my job despite everything except the hundreds of emails I receive every day. I seem to have lost the ability to wade through everything to read and respond to the stuff I actually should in a timely manner.

Not to get emotional about film preservation but it’s actually so cool that in the span of a few years Mississippi Masala went from barely available to proof of a mayoral candidate’s nepotism.

All the Sabrina Carpenter discourse reminds me of when someone told me she didn’t like Babygirl because she didn’t find it sexy and I was like oh yeah you can’t watch it expecting it to actually be kinky and then I realized her issue was that it was too kinky and she found it offensive
