Key benefit of brewing my own is I can serve myself whatever size glass I want. I love these little 8 oz Guinness glasses we have.

Choosing to not be grumpy about this and instead be thankful the car is sitting in my driveway, and that I didnt have a catastrophic failure while driving down the 101 with the kid in the back seat.

Please tell me again about how grades are and have always been objective measures of students' learning.

Spent the day judging the California Homebrew Competition with my DOZE friends up in Oakland. So many tasty beers!

I'm sorry, but WHAT?! The *first* study examing autistic and non-autistic group collaborations?

This is not my field and thus I am not about to do a lit search there, but really? The *first*?

I think there is an epidemic going around, we've spotted this kind of thing in our house too.

Weather has finally cooled off (hopefully for good), so you know what that means.

This is a curious thing to read given the number of papers where students tell us that alternative grading in various forms reduces their stress and anxiety. Its probably the single most consistent outcome from literature on alternative grading.

Why is NPR saying the science isn't clear?!? This is irresponsible and will actively harm pregnant people and babies.

Here's a quote from another story from NPR itself: "Available evidence has found no link". Pretty damn clear!

I dont know which of you need to hear this, but this Kirkland bottled-in-bond bourbon is pretty darn great for a $24 bottle (and it's a 1L bottle even)

Currently enjoying a post-hike treat

Fogust seems to have ended early. We took advantage of this beautiful day to hike a few miles on the bluffs along the coast, and were treated to some whales.

It should be showing you the same as this link if you type the search phrase in Chrome's address bar

www.google.com/search?q=sev...

Note the "&udm=14", which tells it to go to "web", not "all".

This is so wrong. The lesson is to stand up to fascism, and to not throw our marginalized colleagues and students under the bus to get out of the administration's crosshairs.

I think the saddest part of this is probably the millions of students who will lose access to higher ed and the thousands of faculty and staff who will lose jobs.

As an academic whose sales experience is restricted to selling lemonade as a teenager, I was very confused to receive this message

Thought I wanted a book, so I was looking on Amazon, and saw it was a mere 4 stars. So I though "Hmm, maybe not, let me read these reviews though..."

Okay @derekbruff.bsky.social, you convinced me 🤣

They managed to drop in an advertisement before stating four paragraphs down that the impetus for this is entirely fabricated.
