Anyone have a terrific department handbook for doc study/dissertations? “Terrific” = student-centered, intended to lift up, guide students in the art (& meaning) of research & writing, not just a written record of department policies and deadlines. We are writing one and I’d love to connect!

Earlier in my career I was only/most interested in early development in the context of risk. It was how I brought my passion for social justice into my academic career. Before that, I had planned to be a civil rights lawyer. 🧵

I made my first starter pack! Folx researching and writing about early childhood development and education. Help me understand what to do next… do I tag the people in it? Or I just share?
If anyone wants to be added, please let me know! 🐣

I needed an academic home where I could breathe easy… and now that I have it, I’m finding myself in the most creative period of my career. Don’t let anyone EVER tell you midlife isn’t only the beginning! 🔥💐🌟

I love seeing the ways AI can make our work better! Imagine where we can put our mental labor and load when details are taken care of? Also, this is an assistive technology for neurodivergent folx like me!
Sal Khan: "We are building toward a world where a teacher or a school can upload curriculum & academic standards—and then the AI can work with a teacher to plan the entire year to include not just scope and sequence, but pacing."

Has anyone created a starter pack of emotional development researchers? If not, I’d like to make one… who should I include?

My favorite thing about kids is how flexible they can be thinking outside the box! Toddlers and preschoolers especially! It’s a superpower we lose as we get older.

I sense I’m grouping up here with a lot of other researchers and I’m excited about that. I’m curious what’s one thing in your field that seems to be accepted as truth but is actually untrue or misunderstood?

I’m reading everything I can about the intersections of early emotional development and the development of creativity in very young children. Anyone have book or paper recommendations? Bonus for anything on measuring creativity in infants and toddlers! The Unusual Box Test, as one example.

Shalom! Hello! I’m looking for people, parents, teachers, families… everyone who is looking for positive, science-backed convos about raising thriving kids! Who should I meet and follow?
