So much to say and so little time, but I read a few pages aloud from 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗵 and we had a great chat along with Gillebride MacIlleMhaoil, John Norman from the Gaelic Books Council, and Finlay MacLennan from Western Isles Libraries. 2/🧵

It was lovely to be back on "Naoi du Deich" this morning with Cathy Bhàn NicDhòmhnaill talking about translated Gaelic children's books, including our brand-new 𝗕𝗶𝗱𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗹, the translation of Teddy Is Ready by Cape Breton author/illustrator Joanne MacDonald! 1/🧵

Indeed carrying a foreign flag is not illegal. The NYC Tartan Day Parade has entered the chat. (And yeah.)

The designer in me wants to rotate the photo 1-2 degrees counterclockwise to straighten up my bookshelves 😁 But they caught me on a good hair day!

On Wed Apr 30 mid-morning my United flight out of Newark ended up 15th in a long queue of jets waiting to take off. Have rarely seen anything like it. 😬

Driving home over the MacKay Bridge. A view of Tufts Cover power station, the Narrows, and the MacDonald Bridge. Nice evening. (I usually don't get to take videos like this since I'm usually the one driving!) #halifax #novascotia

He really is. He’s so un-charismatic that his party has been running ads that don’t even feature him for the final 2 weeks of the campaign period. Instead they ran one with the last Con PM who is apparently more appealing? Ad screenshot:

Would love to hear Hagan defend Vance’s conversion to Catholicism as a “raw Ulster Scots” trait! 🤣
April 21, 2025 at 2:03 PM
Gave a quote to Scot. poli editor at The Times re Vance’s fake “Scots-Irish” identity claim. My full criticism was more scathing ofc but we need to help chip away at the racist nonsense anyway. Told them I was informed & inspired by Terra Vance & @brianhalpin.bsky.social. Listen to Appalachians!

McAuliffe was chosen as 1st for the new NASA Teacher in Space program & she was supposed to teach us LIVE lessons from space on PBS. That was FOR SCHOOLS and FOR US as (GenX) U.S. students. Max engagement WAS the goal. So it’s wild to accuse GenXers of false memories & wrongly making it abt us. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Selling my late mother-in-law’s Kraft peanut butter teddy bear jar in HRM. Classic Canadiana out of a Nova Scotian kitchen 💚🧸

Felt a great sense of betrayal when I found out. We were loyal customers. But I cannot support the Convoy AND I don't want to be near purposely unvaxed ppl. But, I also have a small biz. So I just let my friends & fam know.

It was France’s Minister for Europe & Foreign Affairs who said it about Europe. And yes our PM has said the US is no longer Canada’s ally. It’s over already.

They would get an awful shock with regard to healthcare. If you apply the US national average, 41% of them would end up with medical debt.

Reminds me of David Sedaris’s metaphor for undecided US voters in 2016:
