I’m sorry. I don’t batch cook either but I do work from home nearly every day so I make food in the middle of the day, but the kids are at school. Not really by choice though – I miss the office routine but it’s pretty much gone now. Anyway, you do what you can.

I thought that was a lot! But most weeks we don’t have alcohol. I do try and make a lot of veggie dishes and bulk stuff out with grains and other bits.

I try to spend less than £110 for a weekly food shop for a family of four. But sometimes I end up getting a few bits in the middle of the week which can cost £20. It’s rough when your wages actually depreciate in value AND food goes up in price… can’t remember when I last had a decent pay rise.

I can use a rewards scheme through work which gets me 4.5% off a Sainsbury’s gift card which helps, along with Nectar offers (although it used to be 5% off, so even that isn’t as good as it used to be)

I only have a small Aldi near me, nothing else. Only big stores are really Sainsburys and ASDA

Thing is, most of the other big ones aren’t any good. Last time I was in Asda, they had no offers and everything was even more expensive than Sainsbury’s somehow.
