I noticed today that mature cheese in Sainsbury’s has gone up by TEN PENCE and I’m outraged again. It was like that time where they put the apple juice up TWENTY PENCE and thought no one would notice. And it’s STILL at the higher price even now.

Not so much fun being stalked around Sainsbury’s for 45 minutes by a much younger man. He disappeared pretty quickly once I told him I was married. Maybe I should be flattered but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Back to online food shopping for me then.

I grew up in Birmingham. Aged 14 I lived in Bromsgrove before moving away. And in all my time living in and around Birmingham, I’ve never seen anything other than the odd Union Jack or St George cross. So, visiting my mum on Sunday, it was a bit unnerving to see streets and streets of these flags.

I’ve been working my way through the excellent documentary on Robocop from 2023, Robodoc, and I’m honestly sad to have finished it. One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. Who knew when I watched the film for the first time aged 9 years old it would still resonate with me so many years later?
