They’re beating you down to let them use your hard-earned taxes to arrest your neighbors & fund endless war overseas. They want to divide you and then stuff their pockets while you’re busy fighting each other. And if you dare try to interrupt it—to see your neighbor as you—they’ll go after you next

Logan is leading the way 👀

I hope other cities and municipalities in Utah and the West take note

Proud of my neighbors and friends for standing up and saying “we can’t afford this choice”

Great reporting on the issue from @sltrib.com’s Clarissa Casper 👇🏻
Defying the expectations of more than 50 residents packed into their regular meeting, the Logan City Council voted against a contract that would have locked the city into purchasing fossil fuels for the next three decades.
While other cities sign on, Logan is the only one to reject a costly fossil fuel energy contract
The Logan City Council voted against a $300 million power sales contract with a natural gas plant in Idaho, following strong opposition from residents who urged a shift toward renewable energy.

A virus came along & killed 10s of millions of Americans & the social consensus is that we made too big a deal out of it.

Adjust your climate hopes accordingly.
I used to think that when global warming truly began to bite, deniers would face reality & we could act. Now I think it's more likely it will lead to a kind of fascism that will respond to global warming by, like, executing everyone who says global warming is real.

“This is the guy who imprisoned me and his shadowy secret organization” is a pretty badass piece of reportage
Just four months after his release from Russian prison, Evan Gershkovich has the lead byline on an incredible story about the ultrasecret Russian agency behind his kidnapping. He and the Journal identified the precise individuals involved. Astonishing. www.wsj.com/world/russia...
