Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 is far better than it is remembered to be. It's a campy and over the top reenactment film that expands on the lore of the The Blair Witch Project and it features solid direction and some commendable performances.

The Blair Witch Project (1999) is one of my top 5 favorite movies. I love (respectfully) visiting Burkittsville and the other filming locations when I get a chance. The town is absolutely beautiful, with buildings dating back to 1821 and a Cemetery dating back to 1831.

Final girls are a necessary part of any slasher film (for the most part). They balance the vengeance the slasher brings, and put brakes on the unbridled chaos. Without a final girl we never get back to the stasis at the start of the film.
