The Vile (2025) is a crisp and creative exploration of the rights and treatment of women. With stellar direction and heartfelt performances, this film will leave you questioning what's real and questioning how we respect the consent of those we love.

Meat Kills (2025) is an unflinching Dutch film examining the meat packing industry, vengeance and cruelty. With outstanding performances, and exceptional direction, this film raises interesting questions and had me shifting my allegiances through the entire runtime.

Dolly (2025) premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 21st. It's a throwback slasher with an incredible amount of charm, scares, and style. Taking inspiration from the '70s slashers this film stands on the shoulders of greatness while finding its own voice.

The Goosebumps Graphic Novels are a pleasant surprise from R. L. Stine and Maddi Gonzalez. there are 2 currently available, The Haunted Mask and Monster Blood. Most of you know my unending love of Goosebumps, so you know how much I enjoyed revisiting these stories in this format.

Traumatika (2025) is a disturbing, frightening, and overall unsettling film. With unique camera work and a noteworthy performance from Rebekah Kennedy, it's worth your time. Just be prepared for some shifts in tone towards the end of the film.

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 is far better than it is remembered to be. It's a campy and over the top reenactment film that expands on the lore of the The Blair Witch Project and it features solid direction and some commendable performances.

Lilly Lives Alone (2025) is a surreal and ambiguous film exploring loss, grief, and mental instability. With a razor sharp script, outstanding direction, and compelling performances, I highly recommend giving this one a watch.

Primitive War (2025) is surprisingly full of heart. I expected dinosaur carnage but I didn't expect the humor and the well rounded and distinct characters. Add to that the capable direction of Luke Sparke and you have a winner of a dino film.

The Unseen by Ania Ahlborn (2025) is an unnerving look at a family's destruction at the hands of a foster child who is more than what they seem.

Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC

Street Trash (2024) directed by Ryan Kruger is a gory body horror film with a sharp social commentary. Loosely based on the 1987 film, it's a love letter to the original film, practical effects, and community.

Return of the Living Dead (1985) turns 40 today! This iconic cult classic forever changed how we view zombies and introduced "Braaaaaiiiiiins" into the cultural landscape. It's fun, funny, and created by the co-writer of Night of the Living Dead.

Die'ced Reloaded (2025) Horror Movie Review

Benny is one of the most interesting slashers since Art the Clown. With a deep backstory, over the top gore, and likeable characters, this '80s throwback slasher is a total win!

Sweet Revenge (2025), the first entry in the Jason Universe looks amazing, features likeable characters, and at 15 minutes long, gives us exactly what we want with no waiting. Jason is back and I'm pumped.

Weapons (2025) from director Zach Cregger is a nuanced and surreal follow-up to the incredible Barbarian. It's a slow burn and textured horror movie that is an absolute must watch!

The Mutilator (1984) is a campy, low budget, indie Slasher. With an awesome synth score, great practical effects, and a unique location, if you like campy indie slashers you'll love this film. It also has the weirdest movie tie-in song of all time.

The Blair Witch Project (1999) is one of my top 5 favorite movies. I love (respectfully) visiting Burkittsville and the other filming locations when I get a chance. The town is absolutely beautiful, with buildings dating back to 1821 and a Cemetery dating back to 1831.

Tales From My Horror Collection Part 5: The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project is one of my favorite horror movies of all time, and I thought meeting the cast was a long shot, but when I heard they would be at Scarefest Weekend we made the 5 and a half hour trip to meet them.
