A 1993 World Series 500-level Blue Jays ticket was $32, with inflation that would be $95.84 today. But now you can go on ticket resellers and get a 500 seat for $2400 or so. Perfect example of rent-seeking behaviour, literally no value added.

These guys saved their shirts until the 9th inning and it hit so hard when they put them on #BlueJays

Film Friday:
I shot this photo of the Grotto near Tobermory on a Holga, and ended up with some lovely distortion effects. It's almost akin to a tilt-shift lens, because the depth of field is so shallow and all the people look like miniatures.

Film Friday:
Shot this house in bright mid-afternoon prairie sunshine on LomoChrome Turquoise and it turned out eerie (Lynchian?) because of the colour shift of the film. LCT has a 100-400 ISO latitude, this was shot at 100 because it was so bright that day.

A few more photos - the beach at Point Farms Provincial Park, mid-excavation, with the sand dug up for the excavation. Second shot I just liked the contrast of a Mastercraft trowel being used on a 19th century shipwreck. Last photo is a top view of the wreck.

Just adding a few photos, another nice one of Lucas with his shipwreck find. His mom made him take his hat off for a better picture. The second is Rob Williams, getting ready to do a scan of the water with a metal detector. Archaeologist Leslie Curry starts the scale drawing that documents the wreck

If you were listening to CBC London or CBC KW this morning and heard a piece on a shipwreck, I just want you to know I cut it together in the gorgeous reading room at the Goderich branch of the Huron County Library.

Piece of copper found on the beach near Lake Huron from a team of volunteers digging up a shipwreck that they think could be from the 1850s. This piece was found thanks to a metal detector

In the comments, readers take issue with that line, rightfully so.
And the reporter says:

There were also films with Canadian "content" such as Canadian Mounties vs. Atomic Invaders (1953). It was actually shot in the U.S., with some Canadian b-roll, and the plot revolved around a foreign power setting up missile bases in northern Canada to target the U.S.

That meant Hollywood studios could shoot in Canada, they promised to distribute National Film Board films in the U.S. and to include mentions of Canada in films, ostensibly to boost tourism. (For Americans, the NFB is a public film developer and distributor & excels at documentaries and animations.)
