Love this harm reduction talk from Dr Susan Sherman at Hopkins. Her SPARC program has mobile outreach van with FTIR spectrometer to test drugs for fentanyl, xylazine, etc.

Hermit crabs now use plastic instead of natural shells for shelter.
The authors employ iEcology (internet data sources) to show for the first time that this behaviour is widespread across species and geographical locations.

I think it's a Cooper's hawk eating a mouse. 🪶🦅🐭
Hawk perched on a garden cart with vegetation around it. In its talons is some bloody carcass, size of a mouse. A bit of meat is seen in its beak. It looks like a Cooper's hawk.

one thing on the roadmap is changing the media tab to show photos in a grid, so artists & more can easily display media

we're also considering allowing people to pin the media tab as the first tab on their profile, since photos might come more easily to people than text 👀

1-red dahlia at Cylburn Arboretum USA-MD, 1/10 second exposure for intentional camera movement (ICM) effect. Meh. 2- 2nd attempt at ICM image (1/10 sec) of red dahlia, showing well-defined (not blurry) streaks of red highlights. I see a potential crop to transform this image. 3- tighter crop of 2nd image, with some cleaning and image sharpening/smoothing. One more crop should leave a nice abstract image... 4- there it is. My current profile image.
