Fuck man I'm really proud of this record. I fucking cooked on this shit. Every song has some meaning to me, and I hope people listen to form their own. Finding the meaning of a song is one of my favorite things about music, and all I want is someone to have that with my music. It means a lot to me.

When I finished the song, I realized I'd made a representation of what getting caught in a memory was like for me. It reminded me of getting lost in thought while smoking a cigarette or taking a walk. The middle is epiphany, then the fallout of realization. Anxiety spirals.

The title is the same as chapter six in Watchmen. It's the one where Rorschach gets ambushed by the police at Moloch's apartment. The structure of the entire chapter is completely symmetrical if you look at it front to back. The first and last pages match exactly, and so on.

When I made this song, I had just done a podcast about Watchmen and was listening to A LOT of Freddie Gibbs' back to back classics Bandana and Alfredo. I thought this song sounded like a sample getting shorter until the very middle, then expanding out again symmetrically. Hence, Rorschach.
