The thing I like about comics is that they are the greatest visual story telling form ever invented and nothing comes even close to level of pure human communication and they are used to make some of the dumbest shit you ever set eyes on.

I have to disagree. There is always going to be Disruption, and yes that does cause destruction but it also causes growth.
My grandfather was in the traditional printing business. His company went under because he didn’t innovate.

Most people who come in loudly declaring they want to disrupt something are in no way looking to be a constructive influence. It’s a grandstanding term rooted in asshole energy from folks that want to shake things up just to center themselves.

For 6 years I worked in the book industry and my marketing and sales efforts brought in $1.5 million in book sales each year. In contrast, the person previous to me was hitting $10k annually.

Superman is all about justice and doing what is right, but he also did it under a certain lens. It’s important to remember the roots IMO.

I think people underestimate the influence that comic books has had on teaching social justice and responsibility to young people across the country and world. IMHO no other type of American fiction has had a greater impact on the public good and creating good humans.
