However each boss has some signature moves that when used on Masaru, he'll learn those and be able to use those for himself. So a big side objective of that scenario is to try to bait and wait out for those moves to be used so he can learn them all.

That would probably be Masaru's scenario, Present Day. It's basically one big Street Fighter pastiche. There's no regular enemies, you basically have a pick of 6 bosses to go after in whatever order you want before the final boss. There's no exp or level ups involved at all in this scenario.

I thought about upgrading my RAM to 32 GB a few years back but didn’t take the plunge and am now SEVERELY regretting it. Really getting tired of whims in tech making some random PC parts basically inaccessible without a shitload of cash.

Nope.

Oh it's no problem! There's definitely some optimal levels to have Bowser at when it comes time to grind up the bros. for the gauntlet and such, and very useful to know which levels to aim for if Bowser overshot a previous optimal level as you've said.

Anything beyond 40, so if you wanna do the gauntlet, don't grind Bowser up first. Otherwise it's pretty much standard RPG stat boost fluctuations before then. The 20s are probably the sweet spot. Not something to super worry about otherwise.

Yeah it definitely could have been phrased a bit better. It's pretty standard RPG stat boost fluctuation until level 40.

It almost certainly is. No other Mario and Luigi game works like this and the remake fixed this.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
No it's just a table of set stat boosts. The game mistakenly checks for Bowser's level when deciding which boosts to apply to the bros.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
This was fixed in the remake. No other Mario and Luigi game works like this so it's almost certainly a bug.

It's funny how much he leaned in on that with that one cutscene, and took a very funny direction with a returning character, cause like the other Sakurai directed Kirby games didn't really have those unsettling aspects? (Barring in Super Star, Marx being toned down and the cut horror sub-game.)

God the dinky little stand on my original Switch kept snapping off after I had it for a while. So glad that was something they decided to improve quickly in later editions of the system and its successor.

I know exactly what you're talking about and I want whatever sprouted that idea in the dev team's minds. Absolutely amazing and galaxy brained.
November 22, 2025 at 6:58 AM
Yeah I have no idea what happened there. At least you're taking 15% less damage so it is ultimately easier.

Later games fixed this by just having a separate set of lowered stats used for enemies in Casual instead of applying these multipliers.
