Fact checking happens when the checkers use empirical evidence to support or refute a given FACT. An opinion is not necessarily a fact, and vice versa. In removing the fact checking element, FB is giving carte blanche to any yahoo to state anything as if it IS, indeed, true. So stupid.

Just your friendly reminder that only abt 29% of the US identifies as Republican. (via Gallup) When U see stories about how 50% of Republicans believe/support whatever, it refers to about 14% of the country. Maga is about 33% of the GOP, or approx. 18 mm voters. They're small, but they're LOUD.
