Assistant Professor - research group works on the evolution of AMR and understanding cryptic mechanisms of resistance. All views my own. T1D
Back by absolutely zero demand, its the Hubbard annual pumpkin carving competition. Which is best, left or right?! #Halloween

After 4 years, starting my group, some grant success, numerous wonderful PhD, Masters and BSc students, I have to say goodbye to NTU. I've throughly enjoyed my time here and worked with wonderful colleagues and develop multiple collaborations! On to the next adventure at Uni of Nottingham

We’re helping identify the top 10 research priorities for chronic and recurrent UTI in the UK. It only takes a few minutes to complete the survey and could help shape future care. www.surveymonkey.com/r/UTI_PSP

Completed my clock from old bike parts today, bit of trial and error with the colours but think I am happy with it!

Are you at #ESCMIDGlobal? Interested in AMR and beta-lactamase inhibitor resistance? Then check out Hawa Ahmed's brilliant poster (1692) on removing evolutionary constraints with molecular biology to find inhibitor resistant mutations! #microsky

Really cool to have given a talk at #microbio25, I can cross it off the list! If anyone want to chat about looking into the urobiome as a reservoir of AMR and replicating AMR acquisition in a 3D bladder model, give me a shout!! #microsky #utisky

Second we have @aurelianachilengue.bsky.social who is presenting on her work using reference free clustering to assess epidemiology of Mtb to determine transmission (A049) (3/3)
April 1, 2025 at 10:10 AM
First we have @mwilde.bsky.social who is presenting work on the characterisation of a mutation in KPC-2 which silences the carbapenamase activity but gains resistance to ceftazidime-avibactam (A146) (2/3)
April 1, 2025 at 10:10 AM
We ALSO have multiple @arom-ntu.bsky.social posters today at #microbio25 ! (1/3)
April 1, 2025 at 10:10 AM
We're here at #MicroSoc25, well some of us at least... come see @mwilde.bsky.social poster (A146) and chat to her about her work on gene silencing! Then tomorrow I'll be speaking at the urogenetial microbes session. #microsky #utisky

The awesome @maskewk.bsky.social has been rightly recognised for her work towards EDI in her teaching at Loughborough University!! Very proud of her.

Well that was a long but very fun day of AMR. I really hope everyone enjoyed it but time to relax with a glass of red wine and a cuddle from my boy! #EastMidsAMR

But... he now has an "uncle" called Beauden who is my parents fox red lab. Coincidentally he has turned 4 today!

What was that? What happened to the Hubbard-Maskew pumpkin carving content 2024?? Don't worry, back by absolutely zero demand.. left or right??

Halloween next week and my partner wanted spooky nails for it, but wanted to practice first... so here is my halloween nail!

The utterly excellent @mwilde.bsky.social has been talking about AMR at Soapbox Science in Nottingham. Milli crocheted bacteria as props to demonstrate transmission in One Health. Very #ProudPI #AMR #WomenInSTEM

Second we have Research Assistant @bethjames.bsky.social who is presenting her work on using evolution and collateral effects of AMR to predict the best antibiotics to use to improve treatment options/outocmes and limit emergence of resistance. Plus a sneak preview of our current work #microbio24
