Southern Water’s new “rivers and seas watch” replaced “Beach Buoy”.
Interesting how this data can be displayed differently. Pie charts reflect the proportion of overflows discharging but not volume. Proportion suggests less than 1/2 but the largest WWTPs are discharging

On the “to do” list for 2025 is to get the tracking data on these crabs published. Crabs were exposed to next-gen antifoulants. Some really interesting results from our first foray into acoustic telemetry. 🦀🎤🛳️🧪

Pertinent to recent conversations on immunotoxicological effects of PFAS.
15 years ago we published a mesocosm experiment whereby Baltic Sea amphipods had higher microsporidian infections following PFOS exposure

Surf at Llangennith on the Gower (S Wales) is up to 25ft (50ft faces). That’s huge!
Those that surf this location regularly know even if you were stupid enough to try and get out, you couldn’t 🏄♂️🏴

Flood warning map UK. A nation famed for rain but hasn’t become resilient to heavy rain or drought and protecting its water resources.
It’s a failure of long term planning by multiple governments, regulation, water companies that importing clean water from Norway was being tabled as an option.

Dear Fish Parasitologists
Just helping a colleague from Sri Lanka. Any ideas what group of parasites this might be from? Taken from the gut of a Skipjack tuna.
