Indeed. What happened here? They put a microphone in front of my face and let me speak for three hours on my views about Canadian health care and now it appears this documentary on Canada may actually see the light of day. Strap in!

I know it’s winter and I should be sipping some reds but I’m not there yet and this wine was delicious

A beautiful albeit blustery day on the Big Rideau and since we in Canada know what comes next time to seize the moment

Crowding and Prolonged Waits for Care are Not caused by low acuity patients and will not be solved by diverting them away from the ER.

Took a few minutes out to remember my friend and ER colleague LCol. Erin Savage. An inspiration to us all.

New ones on me!

The Canadian flag was presented to me by the Commanding Officer and CWO of the 427 Squadron and was flown from a Griffon helicopter in March of this year. Super touched by this memento of my time in as a Flight Surgeon.

I cannot express, adequately, in words, how deeply touched I was to have representatives from my old helicopter squadron (427 Tac Hel) at my retirement party last night.
I admit to shedding a couple of tears.

Damn it! The night I have been absolutely dreading.
I have been lucky to have a career so wholly enriched by the physicians and nurses who daily strive for excellence in patient care, usually totally unheralded. They should all be celebrated. They are heroes.
I will be thinking of them tonight.

One of the absolute wildest things I have encountered in an Emergency Medicine conference. The expressed humanity brought a tear to my eye. #IFEM2025
