This is a short, narrative driven game similar to Florence. It’s not fun, it’s frustrating and unsettling and that’s the whole point of it.
Literally sobbing when I reached the end. Pure art. Another 10/10 🌟

Nothing will ever top Lumines Electronic Symphony but that era of licensed OST is over. At least they won’t delist Arise in the future because of the OST—it’s a digital-only release RIP my collecteuse ass

I was a bit worried about the OST for Arise because they were only showing Only Human in the trailers, and that’s a B+. Since there is no licensed track I was worried it’d be full of fillers. That’s not the case at all. I’d say it’s better than Tetris Effect and Rez Infinite.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi & Enhance understand VR. Just like Rez and Tetris Effect/Connect, Lumines Arise is an essential game to play on PSVR2. Yes I am a fangirl but that means I was overhyped and I was not disappointed. A 10/10 🥇

4. Normal difficulty is way too easy. I’m liking it way more now that I switched to hard. That said the settings weren’t pretty obvious; you can’t change difficulty during a mission so I assumed they were absent until a friend pointed them out yesterday.

3. Those construct attacks don’t fit my traditional view of the series—maybe the reason I never cared to play TotK (technology; construction). And because I haven’t played TotK Idc for the characters. Although the story is beautifully told in AoI & easy to follow. May motivate me to play TotK next.

2. I dislike that most of the special attacks are locked behind a consumable (battery). It breaks the usual loop in these games which is normal charging special charging ultimate attacks.
Even though you get a lot of it it happens often and it is annoying to ran out of batteries mid bosses.

I do love it that the iam8bit physical edition comes with all the patches; no download when I inserted the disc 💿
It also comes with a cute poster and a code for the OST. I saw there is a vinyl release and I may grab it; I really like the music.

Finished Another Crab’s Tale 🦀
I really wanted to like this game but I don’t 🙃
It has a lot of heart, the writing is excellent and it has great social commentary.
But the combat is too simplistic and the level design uninspiring yet frustrating.
Maybe I was overhyped. 7/10?
