Dreigiau o Gymru. Aka Andy Frazer. Illustrator of dragons and dinosaurs. All books available in my Etsy shop. Please DM for commission enquiries. He/him. European/Welsh. No AI. www.andyfrazer.com
(4/4) Anyway, it was an absolute pleasure to work on these, and I hope it won’t be the last time I get to swim in prehistoric seas!
If you are anywhere near Birmingham before the end of February next year, don’t forget to pay a visit:

(3/4) By the time I’d finished, I had become absolutely fascinated by these bizarre, ancient animals.
Dinosaurs get all the attention (and yeah, they are cool) but it’s worth remembering that the story of prehistoric life is much richer and more complex.

(2/4) Going into this project, my knowledge of jawless prehistoric fish was pretty sketchy (I’m guessing I’m not alone in that!)
Fortunately, I was working under the expert (and patient) guidance of @nitroshutter.bsky.social and his colleagues at the University of Birmingham.

No. I don’t just draw dinosaurs! These illustrations were commissioned for the Feeding Without Jaws Exhibition at @lapworthmuseum.bsky.social Check out their website - www.birmingham.ac.uk/events/feedi... - for more details of the exhibition, which runs until the end of February. (1/4)

The real “Dolores”? I was recently commissioned to create a pencil sketch of Aquilops - a dinosaur which I’d never really paid proper attention to. In the l course of my research I became a bit obsessed and felt compelled to also create this more detailed illustration as a personal project.

For a small country, Wales has a surprising number of very, very cool dinosaurs.

Pendraig milnerae (Pendraig = “chief dragon” in Welsh) was discovered in 1952, not far from where I live, but only named in 2021 after being re-discovered in storage by Angela Milner and Susannah Maidment.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse Meta AI has now started critiquing my work on Facebook.

And its critique is… well, it’s something…

Stop the world, I want to get off.

In the latest instalment of the hellscape that is my life, random clown doesn’t believe that I don’t use AI, so asks Grok AI… but when Grok AI tells them the same thing, they believe it.
What a time to be alive.

Give me strength.
Or a big f-off hammer. Either would be fine at this point.
