Got a basic system wired up to damage events now.
Maybe some day I'll come back to this and set up a 3d volume texture that can record hits and use that. For now, this will do.

After nearly 2 years of solo dev, I've finally released a demo and will be featured in Steam Next Fest! And it works great on the Steam Deck!

After a lot of time spent this weekend, the system is almost completely functional.

It calcs cap chance (based on LV, HP, Dist, Aware) & has a fail state.

In the future, needs more camera angles and animations. Also missing the part where you compare stats afterward.

Quick tip for #UnrealEngine devs from Unreal Fest 24

A disconnected but activated tick event uses ~3.5 μs of frame time in pure overhead

If you left this in an Actor that is spawned many times over you could easily break into milliseconds per frame
