What's the point in saving money during production if you're going to pass that saving onto the consumer?
If they weren't going to pass on the savings of digital purchases, there's no way they'd do this. And they'll likely argue that selling for $50 would make it seem less "premium"

I vaguely recall people disliked Galactic Federation troops talking a bunch in MP3.
They were basically just intro characters, and after that you were left to your own devices.
If this nerd guy is the worst thing in the game, that still sounds like a good time.

This is true throughout capitalism. The price is what the customer will tolerate. If they don't tolerate it now, give it a little longer and they will because they've given up expecting it to go down.
