They tend to keep a woman identity, yes, but though they may appear female, there’s a lot that goes into it. It’s not cut and dry, even if you whittle sex down to whatever gametes you happen to have.

2/ of the other. Some may have fallopian tubes but others do not. Some have the “inbetween genitalia” while others may look typical for female. Sex has different factors and there’s a spectrum on how those factors appear.

It’s a lot more nuanced than you’re trying to make it. The genetic blueprint says they’re supposed to form the pathway for semen, but the SRY gene doesn’t activate, and they develop externally (and sometimes internally) female leaning bodies. They also develop streak gonads, which isn’t really one

Swyer’s: XY chromosomes, female genitalia, often doesn’t have any form of gamete. Would they be considered to not have a sex because they don’t have a gamete? Or would be base it off of their S.C? Or their physical anatomy?

Sex is defined by multiple different factors, including but not limited to karotypes. There are many different variations that can occur within those factors. Elementary is “XX=female, XY=male” or some form of that argument.

3/ those who have the “typical” S.C can have Swyer’s (aka XX male) or de la Chapelle (XY female), AIS, CAH and more. Sex isn’t a cut and dry binary. It may be a bimodal system, but there’s different ways that system can occur. #intersex is real, and you could be without knowing it.

2/ chimerism, and have different sex chromosomes in different parts of your cells/body (XX/XY or XY/XX). You can even be mosaic, where your S.C might be X/XX, X/XY, XX/XXY, etc, depending on your cells or organs. There was even a recent case where someone had XY in their skin and XX everywhere else

3/ may think. Colonialism decimated a lot of these cultures and with it, the “undesirables” that challenged their status quo.

2/ influence; teachers, healers, spiritual leaders. Intersex people were often seen as the bridge between the mortal and afterlife worlds. Trans (in our terms non-binary) and intersex people were also seen as having coexisting feminine and masculine energies. Humans are a lot more complex than you
