Nearly every piece of felisin's POV had alarm bells ringing in my head going "TOO REAL TOO REAL TOO REAL"
Really a tremendous illustration of how surrendering to despair and fatalism can impact a person, among other themes. Her arc is absolutely one of my favorites in the series

i tend to fall somewhere around "she is a phenomenally well-written and complex person who i have a ton of empathy for, and her character arc is absolutely crucial to the series as a whole for both plot and thematic reasons, but holy FUCK i dislike every moment i have to spend inside her head"

Stranger of paradise is also great by virtue of connecting itself to ff1 and insisting that it has a plot longer than one sentence. Everything associated with ff1 is perfect and I'm tired of ppl rolling their eyes and sighing frustratedly when i talk at them about it for two straight hours
