checked out Copilot "for free" on VSCode because i needed to do some sloppy data manipulation. it silently installed the Copilot extension and kept throwing notifications in every window to get access from my business admin with no sign on how to get rid of it.

Hideaki Anno does whatever he wants to do and it's marvelous. the Second Coming of Jesus sure would look cool as a planet-devouring robot, so that's what it shall be. shot composition and artstyle switch frequently, especially the live action shot. surreal's what it is, and dare i say, postmodern.

grok prompts are (supposedly) publicly available now, and amusingly (although not surprisingly) they have to ask it to use the X lingo instead of twitter.

a less-spoken thing is how we largely "solved" office hardware. there are no broken printers to exert our anger on anymore. there will never be a beatdown MV for Wayland or IAM permissions. our scapegoats have evaporated into the Cloud, and all we have left to anger at are ourselves and our code.

i won't speak of the naivete of the whole setting, but a story like this asks questions you don't normally think about. if the terrorism, violence and obscenity that lie at the borders of society are also vulnerable to failure and doubt, what do those look like? a tough enemy suddenly feels hollow.

one of the funniest films of its kind. the exaggerated cynicism and Sade-ian "anti-justice" motif is excusable (though i suppose it's a trend with Judge). that said, it has one of the most messy storywriting around a disabled person that i have seen, for a film of otherwise great writing quality.

a straightforward comedy of errors that knows what it is and does it right. meticulous chicken cinematography to be noted. this film belongs to a brief period of genuine anti-American war-on-terror sentiment from the Bush era, though now Indian cinema seems to be on a warrriors' era of its own.
