Thank you Jeff VanderMeer though you will likely never see this review, all of your Ghostbirds remain in my soul forever.

This book reads like a long slow death, yet it ends gently without the violent impact we often associate with death. Nothingness, or ghostness, or air as a source of freedom & a type of being are themes in this story that melt into ideas of camoflauge or having malleable borders or edges. (fin)

I include this quote because after concluding this book I felt suddenly very connected to this epic poem and the Simorgh .. that mystical bird of all birds (literally made of all birds). I often feel this way when I read Jeff Vandermeer, finding connections to humanities oldest symbols and lessons.+

Orc city, fickle and multifaceted, some she loves kindly, others she spits out and leaves to die.

fpr my 26th birthday I think I should get to name somebody or give them a secret name. For our birthdays we should get to give a very special present to someone else we love.

i have had a log of names i collect since I was around 8-10 years old and that has been very nice as a trans person who also writes stories with characters. My dream is to gift someone the perfect name, but I’m not going to have children so if u really loved me u would let me name you i think
