I think since we are just solidly living in hell presently, I'm not any more put off by the book than reality. I had a more visceral response to Handmaid's Tale because I read that before living /this/ nightmare.

I think I just like it better because I can post something fun and not get a bunch of spam comments or some negativity just for negativity's sake in the comments. I don't get stressed out reading comment threads on other people's fun posts either. It's just /nicer/ over here.
