My pre-print from the Shikanov Lab is live! We detail oocyte and somatic transcriptome, and whole follicle proteome signatures driving folliculogenesis in vitro towards improved ART. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Transcriptomic and proteomic dynamics of ovarian follicle group culture resemble in vivo folliculogenesis
The prohibitively low yield of fertilizable oocytes obtained from cultured ovarian follicles limits clinical translation of in vitro follicle maturation for fertility preservation. This is in part due...

In an unorthodox study, researchers invented a special kind of floss that can protect against infectious disease. In the process, they had to do something no scientist had done before-- try to floss a mouse.

Sex at birth may not be purely random, according to a new
#ScienceAdvances study.

Instead, each family’s likelihood of having only male or only female children is a “weighted coin toss” influenced by maternal age and genetics. scim.ag/3ILwz3O

Congratulations to the new Dr. Jordan Machlin and the Shikanov Lab the latest publication on single-cell analysis of human oocytes. We spent many, many hours searching for eggs under the microscope 🔬 and found minimal differences in fresh vs. cryopreserved oocytes.
