i want to be excited about my birthday, but i haven't been since i turned 30. i don't have a community anymore or friend circle so everything feels bad. it also just reminds me of all my friends who don't get to celebrate another year alive anymore.

Can't even take my birthday off or this Friday because I have no fucking meeting coverage. Instead I get to spend the day taking my mom to get an MRI because of some massive health issues and be sad. Love my birthday every year.

My rep who is Republican is holding a Town Hall this week, but it's VIRTUAL. If you call his office and try to ask for an in-person Town Hall, his staffers get annoyed. Man won't face his constituents face to face. You also had to sign up via a form just to get a phone call to join. Unreal.

Nothing like a random parent on FB telling you "measles ain't that bad" while showing me information via the CDC that prior to vaccine development in 1963 there were an estimated 3 to 4 million cases every year. Apparently "400-500 deaths out of 3-4 million cases" isn't that bad. #measles #vaccines

I found another awful right wing misinformation cesspool with a few absolutely fake AI bad actors who are not part of my local community. Every time I report their posts, comments, and profiles I am told that "Rona Con" is a real person and isn't breaking community standards. Yeah, ok.

Just joined a "Parents of <Town>" group on FB because someone suggested some more uncensored conversation about my town council was being held there. Turns out it's just a far right wing cesspool of "owning the libs" and "MAGA MAGA MAGA." It's actually wholly terrifying.

haven't used my iPad air 2 in ages, finally found a use except everything now requires iOS 16 which isn't supported on my iPad. so i basically have a web browser & e-reader paperweight.

death has been impacting people i know and people i care about a lot this week. it makes my heart hurt knowing how much pain they're in. i've felt it too. i don't want them to feel like that. no one should, but it's a testament to their love.
