Director of Operations at IAFF. Retired Cincinnati Fire Fighter
I remember working on this when it passed it 2017. To see cities fighting these claims when sick fire fighters need the support the most is disappointing and gross. It is the exact problem that passing the law was intended to stop.

It’s tragic anytime a worker dies on the job but this is unconscionable. To bully and intimidate people as they simply work to provide a sustainable life is beyond gross.

At the @WatfordFC match and I have never seen poorer officiating. This guy has lost all control of the game. Is it possible to relegate an official? #watford #eflchampionship

The Social Security Fairness Act passed the Senate.

Strong work by the IAFF political and governmental affairs team.

Now fire fighters can get their entire earned Social Security benefit when they retire.

Great point NY Times… even better if you made it when it mattered more-BEFORE people voted based on the promises that you now call out.
President-elect Trump promised voters that he would cut energy and electricity prices in half within 18 months of taking office. But energy industry experts noted that a president has limited influence on how much Americans pay at the pump, and even less leverage when it comes to electricity prices.
Trump Promised to Halve Energy Costs in 18 Months. Experts Have Doubts.
A president has little control over global oil markets, economists say.
