Kudos to Surly for making such a ridiculously capable bike. I rode my Ogre to work today when the air temp was well below zero and the wind chill more than 20 below. My last commuter bike couldn’t operate below zero but the Ogre performed flawlessly.

As a year-round bike commuter in Wisconsin, I will confess that there are sub-zero days when I’m not too stoked to be getting on the bike first thing in the morning. But then there are days like today, 30 degrees and sunny, where it is pure joy.

Bike paths in #Madison #Wisconsin were characteristically clear today after yesterday’s snow storm. City streets, not so much. A beautiful commute to the office this morning.

Winter bike commuting really isn’t difficult if you have the appropriate clothing and your city has good bicycling infrastructure like #Madison #Wisconsin. I had a peaceful and lovely ride home last night in the snow.
