We really are just so allergic to the vulnerability of human interaction that we would be way too threatened by making anything too human-like. We prefer all of our needs met by something we don't have to have any feelings about at all.

I dunno how I feel about discussions around consumer culture. Because it always ends in "the consumer isn't ever at fault" and it's like... very deterministic. As a species are we just destined to end up here? We could never collectively decide to stop buying things tomorrow as a group of 7 bil.

Home is just a bad product (all Pokemon can go in but only some can come out and moves are erased, subscription model cloud storage that should just be local). Go is the main game I play with other people in a social way. Having my Go Pokemon in another game adds no gameplay value to me.

My theory is that the wild areas being part of the city are a way to mask that the different "camps" in Legends ZA are different maps to allow for more seamless open world feeling gameplay while still allowing each wild area to maintain its consistent spawns each time you visit.

I was not and still am not the biggest fan of Gen 6. But it does remind me of kind of a special time in my life. My husband first approached me asking me to battle in X&Y, and my channel grew and a lot of doors opened for me. Maybe Gen 6 was really the friends we made along the way.

If I were to turn on my critic brain about Pokemon Go for a second, I can see why not very many people are engaging with Dmax/Gmax. I think ultimately the strategy required for Gmax battles is fun and unique for the game, you don't get this kind of specializing and team work required in Go otherwise

Prices of video games in the US are very weird over time. In the N64 era, each full price game was still $60, which is like $114 today. But games were cheaper to develop back then. Games are still $60 today even though the cost to develop games has tripled since then.
