I've seen Smokey Bear in ads on bus stops and such in San Francisco in 2025. But perhaps he doesn't have the same iconicity that he used to.

I read Robin Wall Kimmerer's book The Serviceberry and some of the things she says in that book really affected me. "Store your abundance in those around you." I don't mean to appropriate something that's not mine but I think about those words every day and I hope to do right by them
