Will Alberta actually vote out the UCP? I don’t think there is a viable opposition, but maybe I don’t follow Alberta closely enough.

In the eyes of the leaders, if they push back on the transition from fossil fuel dependence hard, the risk of building new fossil infrastructure is low. We’ve lost billions of renewable energy investment commitments in 2025.

I think governments see the risk of not following the pipeline building doctrine, as higher than going against it. What I hope is, in the time it takes to disprove the pipeline, we would add more renewable capacity. But it doesn’t look like this would happen.

Daniele smith needs new pipelines to satisfy her American puppet masters. Canada has up to 2 million barrels per day or oil pipeline capacity. I’d say that’s all we need in a declining oil demand future.

There are so many YouTubers trying to convince viewers the current oil glut and low prices are a normal commodity cycle and that this is the time to invest. They are using rosy demand growth assumptions. I’m afraid that the electro transition will be slowed down again.

Informal foreign aid or the money that is sent home from Canada to other countries to support families, will continue to be sent, no matter what happens officially. This soft support is more important.
