On my private twitter I've been singing her praises probably to an annoying degree, so I'm spreading wings to be annoying elsewhere. I'm blown away by the level of design quality managed for a debut work. Personal favorite CD discover! of the past year or so, a name to keep an eye out for!

Though my feelings on the adaptation of Sentai Daisikkaku are starting to lean negative; one thing I can appreciate above all else are Kahoko Koseki's (古関果歩子) designs and subsequent CAD effort. A name sadly unlikely to garner mainstream attention, yet is an unyielding positive for a rough series.

What is this heckin bright color design propaganda in my cinematic Chainsaw Man doing. My dark and gritty Chainsaw Man??? My super downer Chainsaw man??? The color is popping, the world doesn't look like grim shit because bad stuff happens??? My heckin cinematic Chainsaw Man is GONE????? God bless.

I don't understand why they started Jiji's arc and then ended it in such a piss poor spot. They had the vol. 5 bonus chapter looking them straight in the eyes if they needed a chapter to conclusively end on... it's a shame. Dandadan cour 1 got knocked down quite a few pegs for me across its run!

My take of the evening is that I somehow enjoyed Kaiju No. 8 more than Dandadan now that they've both concluded. TV anime this year was so incredibly dull outside of the Meshi/Frieren/Apothecary trinity earlier this year that a manga I cared little for reached the upper echelon lol. Weak year.

the only con of having a bluesky account and not a twitter would having become the target audience for this meme sadly

So when discussing subject matter with serious themes, etc, thinking the solution to such things is a removal of beauty found in the world, it's hard to subscribe to such logic. There are many valid ways to depict such manga, but it was disappointing seeing S4 remove such an integral element of AoT.

"This world is cruel yet beautiful." Across Araki's adaptation of AoT the series never lost sight of this no matter how lifeless the situation at hand. Grungier = more serious often times is a false equivalency in of itself. Beauty can be found even in the worst of worlds, and worst and situations.

A common dichotomy between people discussing how a work handles serious material is it's approach to color to set the tone. Adaptations that never sacrifice the serenity of the world that elopes the characters instead of a safe muting of such scenery to drive home hopelessness stand above all.

Wish Dandadan was a more even production outside of the big episodes, but they always deliver when the time comes. Even without air-tight supervision and somewhat distracting color choices the sheer expression allowed in each episode is more than enough to make up for it. Dandadan is a great show.

In a broader sense, what draws me to his work is his pronounced art-style. Among his many strengths he brings to an OP (storyboard flow, unique assortment of colors, credit integration), his works are really at their upmost peak when his artwork corrections/genga are at the forefront. Insane appeal.

Been gushing about Masashi Ishihama's SnK OP in private circles a lot recently, it's a work that exemplifies the best of his approach. Lot's of information overlayed throughout yet never losing its clarity, all the while keeping pace with a bombastic song. It's timeless, one of his personal best.

It's rough and quite frankly hard for me to parse how a company as large as ATLUS has let their anime cutscenes become so far removed from the scale of their games when they can easily afford better, outside of P3/FES and P5 they hardly cross TV anime level, but the FES comparisons really hurt.

Although it was a horrible financial decision, I bought Episode Aigis for P3R. It was sad to see across both the main game and DLC Yukio Takatsu's effort in establishing the tone for the original disregarded. It was so barebones it felt anti-art at times, all idiosyncrasies removed. A sorry sight.

It was really the details like Mina using her Tiger (which receives no explanation ever) as recoil support in the tenth episode that made me charmed by it alongside the overall feel of the series. It's just fun.

Think I left twitter by the time the show progressed, but it was nice seeing Tetsuya Nishio's take on K8 across all 12 episodes, in the end it was a really solid shounen that didn't excel at anything but also never failed to entertain, a classical shounen feel. Very enjoyable cour.
